Edouard Munyamaliza



Edouard Munyamaliza holds a bachelors’ degree in arts and humanities, and has more than 14 years of experience in working with international and local non-governmental organizations in areas of policy development and advocacy, organizational capacity building, management of poverty reduction and rural development programs, promotion of human rights, gender and health promotion, conflict management and support to vulnerable people.

He worked as a human rights activist with Human Rights Organizations; Association des Voluntaires de la Paix – AVP, and then president of a Youth Association for Human Rights Promotion and Development – AJPRODHO.

Thereafter, he worked with an International organization called TROCAIRE in the position of Civil Society and Capacity Building Program Officer, before joining the USAID-DG Team as a conflict Management Advisor.

Edouard joined the Office of the First Lady and worked in the capacity of supervisor of 13 social oriented projects, of which health promotion and protection of vulnerable women and children were the main areas of focus.

He also worked with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in the Office of the Canadian High Commission in Kigali as a senior development officer in charge of the rural development portfolio, management of bilateral cooperation issues in relation to Official development Aid between the Government of Rwanda and Canada. He always ensured that gender, Youth, HIV/AIDS and environment cross-cut all CIDA development programs in Rwanda.

Edouard is one of 9 positive-minded men who founded the Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre, and is currently working as the executive secretary.

Edouard is aged 40, he is married and has one daughter.

Edouard, there must be a huge backlog of houses, schools, etc. in Rwanda?

If this is so, then I bekieve the solution to this issue wouls be moladi construction technology - as it is in many African countries including South Africa where we are based. Have a look at www.moladi.net
