RWAMREC training of enumerators



From 16 to 23 March RWAMREC is conducting a training of 80 data collectors who will collect data for the study on masculinity. This study on the perceptions of masculinity in relation to gender-based violence will be conducted at a national level in Rwanda. The research is an initiative of the Rwanda MenEngage Network coordinated by RWAMREC and funded by the UNDP Rwanda.
The objective of the study is to provide reliable data that are needed to develop comprehensive evidence based strategy that will tackle the root causes of violence and aspects of negative masculinity.

The study will focus on the relationship between socio cultural norms about gender relations and the current violence experienced by male and females in Rwanda.
The research activities are implemented and coordinated by RWAMREC. The research team and field activities are coordinated and supervised by

Henny Slegh: A specialist in Medical Anthropology and Gender

KIMONYO Agustin: Gender Expert, RWAMREC

The objective of this training of data collectors is to equip data collectors on general knowledge on gender, gender based violence, sexuality, masculinity research techniques, how to organize focus group discussion.
